G2 Ventures

mentoring founders and helping startups get funded, grow, fixed and exited

G2 Ventures is the personal investing and consulting entity for George Garrick, former CEO of IRI (Information Resources, Inc.) and A.C. Nielsen who subsequently relocated to Silicon Valley in 1997 to catch the early phase of the Internet and Mobile explosion.  He has been there ever since, accumulating a wealth of experience involved in the good, the bad, and the ugly of tech startups.  His companies have resulted in one IPO and 5 exits, creating $3 Billion of investor value.

While still serving in full time roles as a serial tech and business services CEO, George believes part of a CEO’s role includes also being active in other areas of the tech industry through investing, advisor, and selected Boards.  In addition, George always dedicates time and balance for family.

Over his career, George’s operating expertise has tended to focus on growth/scaling/turnarounds and exits which of course means an emphasis on later-stage startups and growth companies.  His domain expertise has covered Data-Software/Information (including enterprise software and SaaS) and business services/Advertising-media-marketing experience across online/mobile/traditional channels, data and analytics, mobile apps and payments, and ecommerce.  He has run private and public companies, with international experience in both Europe and Asia.

In addition to his personal ability to add value, George has accumulated an extensive network of experts to call on for direct help, or can act as a conduit for introductions.
